Candle Care & Maintenance

✂️ 1. Trim the Wick – Every Time

  • Always trim the wick to ¼ inch before each lighting.
  • This helps prevent soot, mushrooming, and flickering flames.
  • Use wick trimmers or scissors for a clean cut—never light a wick that’s too long.

🔄 2. Burn It Right

  • For the first burn, allow the wax to fully melt across the surface (2–3 hours) to avoid tunneling.
  • Never burn the candle for more than 2–3 hours at a time—this protects the wick and preserves the fragrance.
  • Allow the candle to cool completely before relighting.

🧼 3. Keep It Clean

  • Remove wick trimmings, matches, or any debris from the wax pool.
  • A clean surface ensures even burning and prevents clogging or wick drowning.

🕯️ 4. Straighten the Wick

  • After extinguishing the flame and while the wax is still warm, recenter the wick if it has shifted.
  • A centered wick ensures an even burn and helps avoid wax waste on the sides.

❄️ 5. Store with Intention

  • Keep candles in a cool, dry place and away from direct sunlight.
  • Heat and light can affect wax integrity, scent quality, and appearance.
  • Replace the lid  when not in use to preserve fragrance.

⚖️ 6. Balance the Burn

  • If the candle starts burning unevenly, rotate it occasionally during long burns.
  • Make sure it’s placed on a flat, stable surface, away from drafts.

🚫 7. Know When to Say Goodbye

  • Discontinue use when ½ inch (1.2 cm) of wax remains.
  • Burning beyond this point can overheat the vessel, which poses a safety risk.
